Komisch 7.26.18

This week has been a pretty interesting week. We didn't really have anything to do, it was a white week basically, but it gave us a lot of finding time, so it was pretty fun.
This week in Germany, it's been a consistent 90+ degrees! I have been cooking like no other, but It's really comforting when I look at the temperature for the day and compare it to back home(it's comparable, if not hotter in hattiesburg, than it is here). This heat actually made it a lot easier for us with street finding, because everyone was out of their apartments and out on the street.
So earlier in the week, we were finding in this place called Chorweiler(it is a pretty small part of the city, but it has so many humble people, and we beleive that there is so much potential there) and I was split street contacting people, just walking as we go, and I ran into this one guy that seemed really interested, and we started talking. It was actually really funny, because at the beginning of our conversation, he asked me where I was from, and I said America, and he automatically assumed that I was Amish! We kept talking, and then he sat me down on a bench, and started googling stuff about Mormons. I tried to talk, but he wouldnt let me, he kept trying to explain to me what he was reading. In this time of him explaining, another man was walking and heard us talking, and came up and joined the conversation. He started putting his input in, and the other two guys started having a conversation, and them ANOTHER man walks up and starts talking to us. I eventually regained their attention, and started talking about the Book of Mormon, and they seemed slightly interested, but the first guy walked away. So here I was sitting here talking to two random men that approached me out of curiosity. We kept talking, and they invited me to go back to the older ones house and talk more, but my companion wasn't with me.. I eventually got back up when the other set of Elders arrived, and I took one of them, and went to the old guys house, and my comp stayed back with the other dude.
We went to his house, and apparently he has a whole family living there, so we taught part of the restoration with them, and they took it pretty well, but went off into a few tangents. We stayed there for about 30-40 minutes, and then went back to the other elders. It was a really good day, and we found so many people.
Also, on Friday, we got a new district leader, and he's absolutely destroying it, and his "councils" are so good(compared to the previous leader). We are so involved now with our goals, and we are getting a lot done.

I wanted to add a little "quote of the week" type of thing in here..
We were in district meeting, and Elder Stacy was talking about how through Christ, we can do anything, and his key quote was..
"We can just trot our way into the Celestial Kingdom(through Christ)"
It was very funny, and it made our whole day.

Anyways, I hope you all have a lovely week and remember that through Christ, anything is possible!

Love y'all!

Neue Wohnung 7.19.18

So this week has been pretty good! It's been a little slower than other weeks, but we are still pushing along. Also, this week was the end of my first transfer(6 weeks) and I got transferred!... Kinda.. It's really hard to explain, but I moved apartments, but I'm still in the same area, teaching the same people. It's super weird, but now we have a really cool view of the city!
So the other day ago, we were teaching a part member family(the husband just joined the church, and the wife is interested) and I actually committed her to be baptized, when she finds the truth for herself. We talked about how we can find that truth through prayer and the Holy Ghost, and we explained that feeling you get when you feel the Holy Ghost. We finished the lesson, and challenged her to pray to know if the church was true, and she said to us that she had been having that feeling, the Holy Ghost, all throughout the lesson. We have seen so much change in her, she started out essentially as an atheist (her country has torn apart by communism and they weren't allowed to practice religion) and now she is on the verge of experience the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm so excited to see were things go from here!
Also something that happened really cool in the week, was I ran into someone, someone particularly special so far on the mission. I told y'all round about the first week that I was on the mission about a woman I met on the bahn that had overheard my conversation with another woman about the gospel, and she was way interested, and it really started my mission off right... well I ran into her again! We talked for a minute, and she told me that she had looked up the church and talked to her mom about it (idk what exactly her mom said, I couldn't understand everything) but it sounded like they already knew about the church a little, and she asked me to explain the difference between our church and others, so I gave her a quick little run down of the restoration. It was good, and we talked a little more, and she said to me that she was heading back to Spain in a week, and that she was staying there for good. Let's hope and pray that she finds the church there as well!
Anyways, other than that, its been a pretty plain week! I love y'all and thank you for your prayers! Remember to always pray if you are looking for something, the Lord is always willing to give us what we need, but sometimes, he requires us to take the first step!
Ich habe liebe für euch!

7.5.18

It's been pretty good! We've been having a lot of success!
One of our main goals this week was to clean up the areabook, and make sure that we contact everyone to see if they have any interest, and so far(we've only gotten through 25 of the 130 contacts) we've found 5 people interested and meeting and talking more about the gospel. We have 3 people that we actually have to transfer, because they have, since the last time they met with us, moved. But it's good, we found ourselves 2 appointments from that, and I'm excited!
So on Friday, my companion and I went on companionship exchanges with the zone leaders! They were super cool, and I learned a ton from them. They are way good missionaries, and they helped me see what I want to become!
Other than that, this week has been pretty short! It's been good though! I think there has been a lot of progress made this week, AND I can understand about 60% of what people say now! The language is coming, slowly, but surely.. Anyways, love y'all!

It's been a Minute! 你好 1.2.2020
